We have a tremendous opportunity for a Critical Care Registered Nurse who enjoys working in the ICU and would like to expand on his/her current skill sets! This unique department cross-trains all the nurses to care for their patients through the entire treatment of care while admitted to this Level Two Trauma Center in Quincy, IL. The RNs who work in this department start with their patients in the critical care unit and follow them through, Pre-Op, Open Heart Surgery, Post-Op, PACU and Recovery until they are discharged from the hospital. Nurses looking to expand on their critical care skills and be cross-trained to all areas of the ICU should definitely apply! The patient care programs established within this department have increased continuity of care, increased engagement amongst the team, and increased collaboration efforts within the clinicians.
Highlights about the position and department:
12-hour night shifts with flexible hours and scheduling
No On-Call
Every third to fourth weekend rotation
Very low turnover within the Unit

What you need to bring to the table:
Two plus years of critical care experience within the Cardiovascular or ICU Unit
Associate Degree in Nursing Required; Bachelor Degree preferred
Current BLS; ability to obtain ACLS during first six months of hire
Active IL RN license or ability to obtain prior to starting new position
