Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist provides services to adult and/or pediatric populations with speech, language, cognitive, communication, developmental, and voice disorders. Responsibilities: -Awareness and response to various stimuli, environments, and daily tasks. -Comprehension of verbal, non-verbal, and written language, symbols, gestures, and/or communication contexts. -Ability to express needs, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and opinions through verbal and/or non-verbal methods. -Problem solving, orientation, memory, attention, planning, and organization. -Specialized equipment such as augmentative devices, speaking valves, and/or auditory/visual aids. -Oral and pharyngeal muscle strength, activity tolerance, tone, and coordination. -Swallow maneuvers and techniques. -Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. -Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards. -Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. -Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
