New!!! Coming Soon!!! St . John's on Fountain Lake xxxxxxxxxxx* The LPTA monitors effectiveness of the treatment plan, and recommends needed changes. The LPTA serves as a liaison between the patient and the Interdisciplinary Team. The LPTA and nursing staff work as a team in association with the patient's attending physician, patient's Physical Therapist, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to provide timely, safe, and cost effective therapy. These tasks are carried out according to hospital policy, hospital mission, Performance Improvement plan and the policies of Physical Therapy Services. Reporting Relationships Reports to Manager of Rehabilitation Services. Qualifications: Knowledge and Ability The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant utilizes necessary physical therapy modalities to deliver care to the young adult through geriatric patient population. The LPTA demonstrates good clinical judgment and is com0petent in the field of physical therapy. Provides care under the supervision of licensed staff. Education/Experience Associates degree from a Physical Therapy program. Current Licensure as required by the state is required. Communication skills necessary. Current BLS is required. One year acute care experience is preferred. Physical Requirements Good general health and stress coping ability. Full mobility and ability to participate in normal activity. Demonstrates ability to speak and hear to communicate with patients, physicians, hospital personnel and the public. Near vision acuity for accurate reading and ability to inspect and analyze work. Able to lift up to thirty (30) pounds. Able to bend, stoop and stretch with minimal physical limitation. OSHA Task Category The normal procedure involves potential exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Universal Precautions with patients should be adhered to in the unlikely event of accidental exposure with ready access to first aid.
