UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital is a free-standing, 50-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility located on the east side of Madison, Wisconsin. Our rehabilitation hospital opened in September 2015 and offers specialized programs for people who have experienced stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions requiring inpatient rehabilitative services. Our goal is to help patients achieve their highest level of recovery with a goal of returning home as soon as able. The UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital is a partnership between UW Health, UnityPoint Health-Meriter and Kindred Healthcare. The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Qualifications: Experience/Skills: Current License to practice in Wisconsin as an Occupational Therapist. Graduate from an approved school of Occupational Therapy. Three (3) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred, but not required. Current CPR certification. #MON-HRS #LI-HRS Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of physical and occupational therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same. Effective oral and written communication skills, in English with additional languages preferred.
