Description - SLP, Speech Language Pathologist
This position will work in outpatient rehab, inpatient rehab and swallow studies
The SLP, Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech and language problems, and engages in scientific study of human communication. Evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors. The SLP, Speech Language Pathologist plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. The SLP, Speech Language Pathologist may lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the Director of Therapy Services.
Qualification for the SLP, Speech Language Pathologist
Education for the SLP, Speech Language Pathologist
A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Pathology from the American Speech-language and Hearing Association or eligibility for certification pending professional experience or equivalent (CFY).
Experience for the SLP, Speech Language Pathologist
One or more years experience as an SLP, Speech Language Pathologist in a healthcare organization preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Current Oklahoma SLP, Speech Language Pathologist licensure; BLS (CPR) certification required.
