The Department of Neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and MassGeneral Hospital for Children is seeking a board-certified Pediatric Neurosurgeon (ABNS and ABPNS) to take on a leadership position in the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery. Massachusetts General Hospital for Children (MGHfC) is a fully accredited, tertiary care children’s hospital within the Massachusetts General Hospital campus. MGHfC has established interdisciplinary programs including pediatric epilepsy and functional disorders, neuro-oncology, craniofacial disorders, and spinal dysraphism, and is an American College of Surgeons Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. The ideal candidate for this position will have an interest and experience in program-building and a commitment to academic endeavors, taking advantage of superb clinical collaborative opportunities within our institution in all areas of neurosurgery and related sub-disciplines, as well as with nearby affiliated hospitals in such areas as eye and ear disorders, burn/reconstruction/craniofacial care, international outreach, and rehabilitation. Broad pediatric neurosurgical experience is prioritized, and subspecialty focus is also encouraged.Massachusetts General Hospital is the largest of the Harvard teaching hospitals, and the successful candidate will become a faculty member of Harvard Medical School’s Department of Neurosurgery. Harvard and its related network of academic and laboratory enterprises, as well as those of the hospital itself, including Mass General Neuroscience, provide truly outstanding opportunities for individuals with research interests of all kinds. The candidate should be qualified to be appointed at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and will have responsibilities for resident and junior faculty teaching in this area.
