Description
The Department of Neurological Surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center is seeking a BE/BC neurosurgeon to join one of the premier functional neurosurgery programs in North America. The program has a practice volume of nearly 1000 procedures per year and a proven record of leadership development in the field of functional neurosurgery. The position is aimed at developing academic productivity and leadership in a junior faculty member desiring to benefit from mentorship from a highly integrated clinical and research team. The applicant should demonstrate a track record of publications and seriously consider a pathway to independent research funding as part of this opportunity. The position will straddle both the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Nashville Veterans Administration Hospital. Areas of clinical and/or research interest should complement the existing areas of expertise in movement disorders, epilepsy surgery, complex pain, and neuromodulation. Opportunities to help train the next leaders in functional neurosurgery are evident in a CAST accredited fellowship program and a number of residents pursuing academic neurosurgical careers.Candidates should have completed an ACGME accredited neurological surgery residency program.
