The Assistant Clinical Investigator (HS) will have a wide range of responsibilities relating to oversight of a clinical intramural research program. The Assistant Clinical Investigator (HS) will be responsible for a mentored research effort.. Duties include development of laboratory and clinical research protocols, oversight and coordination of active trials, data analysis and evaluation, and publication of results.

The successful candidate must be a US citizen and have an M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent, board eligibility or board certification in neurosurgery, demonstrated leadership ability, and relevant training in neurosurgical clinical care and research. Candidates must have specialized expertise in the following fields:

• Clinical research, including patient safety monitoring, and human research protections
  
• Scientific communication, including analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of scientific and clinical data, preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and presentation of research finding to internal and external audiences.
