Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital has an immediate opening for the Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital (BMSCH). This leadership role will also assume the position of Chief of Faculty at an associate/professor level in the Department of Neurosurgery at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey.Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital also has two openings for Pediatric Neurosurgeons at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital (BMSCH), who will assume the role of assistant professor at the New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. Rutgers has a neurosurgery residency program, a neuro interventionalist surgery fellowship program, a vast campus community and clinical centers at New Jersey Medical School in Newark, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick and at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Across our many campuses, there is a wealth of clinical material with basic and translational research resources along with educational avenues for training medical students and residents. The Department of Neurosurgery is recruiting multiple full-time neuro interventionalists and neurosurgeons in the fields of endovascular, spine, pediatrics, trauma, critical care and peripheral nerve, to join our distinguished faculty of 26 MDs and 7 PhDs. These well-qualified new faculty members will manage and build upon a thriving academic department at the Assistant/Associate, and/or Professor rank. Great potential exists to develop clinical or laboratory research within the framework of the Rutgers and RWJBarnabas Health institutions. Exceptional teamwork, program development, teaching, and mentorship abilities are essential, though we also welcome applicants with a demonstrated ability to develop independent research programs with extramural funding. The candidates will be expected to contribute to clinical and educational activities with an emphasis on mentoring students and trainees. Prospective applicants interested in basic research will also be granted protected time to develop lab interests and acquire funding.
