The Massachusetts General Hospital’s Department of Neurosurgery closely collaborates with Central Maine Healthcare. Together they are searching for a Director of the Neurosurgery Division at Central Maine Healthcare (CMH) in Lewiston, ME, with a joint appointment at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Reporting to the Chief of Mass General’s Department of Neurosurgery, the successful candidate will be responsible for clinical care, administrative services and teaching at CMH, as they relate to neurosurgery care. The candidate will also have opportunities to participate in the clinical and educational programs of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital.Applicants must be a graduate of a neurosurgery residency program with American Board of Neurological Surgery Board certification or eligibility. Strong clinical and surgical skills, ability to work with inter-disciplinary departments and strong surgical leadership skills will be essential. Central Maine Healthcare has three accredited Trauma Centers in Maine, with their premiere hospital located in Lewiston, ME. This hospital operates the busiest Emergency Department in central Maine, annually serving approximately 50,000 patients and 800 trauma patients. Central Maine Healthcare is a clinical affiliate of the Massachusetts General Hospital and the two institutions collaborate to provide regional neurosurgical care in New England.
