Brownville, Maine: We seek a skilled PHARMACIST to join an established, financially secure rural health center (FQHC) with 50 years of successful operation. This nonprofit organization runs practices in 7 towns providing primary care, urgent care, mental health, dentistry, podiatry, physical therapy and onsite pharmaceutical services to thousands of patients across a large swath of central and northern Maine. We have 3 OPENINGS for Pharmacists.

NEW PharmD GRADUATES are encouraged to apply to this Equal Opportunity Employer. Candidates who have completed an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency will receive priority attention.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Director, you will manage daily operations including staff, and promote pharmacy services designed to provide value and improve patient outcomes via medication management. You will fill prescriptions and record data in the medication management information system to prevent issues regarding drug interactions, incompatibilities, therapeutic duplications or patient safety. You will supervise a pair of pharmacy technicians to ensure their accuracy prior to dispensing medications. Patient safety, and the protection of confidential patient information, are top priorities.

You will counsel patients, families, caregivers and prescribers regarding medications, therapies, drug guidelines, laws and regulations, etc. You will administer immunizations. You will supervise controlled substances from procurement through storage and dispensing. Among your other roles is liaison with representatives to be involved with product procurement, recalls, information and education on policies / procedures related to contracts, distribution arrangements, procurement, inventory management, etc.

You will operate in an outpatient medical practice that processes prescriptions for patients of all ages – weighted more toward geriatrics more than pediatrics – both for patients of the clinic, and the public at large. This is a modern facility with state-of-the-art technology, and an experienced, collaborative team. Join this Patient Centered Medical Home and have a measurable impact in the community. This position comes with a full time, 40 hour/week schedule and no after-hours call.

You will earn a competitive salary with benefits including relocation assistance, federal liability insurance, health and dental coverage, disability and life insurance, and participation in a retirement plan with employer contributions after the first year. You will receive 3 weeks of paid vacation time (4 weeks starting year two) plus 10 paid holidays, plus paid time off with an expense budget for your CME. You will also be eligible to apply for tax-free NHSC student loan repayment (related to supporting patients with substance use disorder).
