Our Medical Center and a Medical Group Behavioral Health are currently seeking Board Certified, Virginia Licensed Psychiatrist Physicians to work Full Time and PRN within the In-Patient Behavioral Health Center (Avg. 16-18 pts) and Med Psych Unit (Avg. 4-6 pts).

• Hospital affiliated out-patient practice supports the in-patient unit

Our hospital provides in-patient Behavioral Health Services through our an adult, inpatient psychiatric unit. It accommodates twenty patients and contains a large multi-purpose treatment room, a group therapy room, a recreational therapy room, a kitchen, laundry room, offices and work area.

The Center provides a wide range of therapeutic modalities to its patients, including:

• Individual psychotherapy
• ECT
• Group psychotherapy
• Social work services
• Recreational activities
• Pharmacology
• Family therapy
• And educational services

It is exclusively designed to provide short-term stabilization and treatment for adults whose treatment needs mandate an inpatient, rather than an outpatient, setting. Its goal is to return patients to a level of recovery that outpatient care can maintain and continue. The Center accepts referrals and admissions 24-hours-a-day, any day of the year. Those who meet admission criteria may refer themselves or be referred by their family physician, therapist or mental health board. Frequently family members or the court system have intervened on the patient's behalf.

Med Psych Unit:

This unit is a fully functional Medical/Surgical unit where we can care for those who have a co-occurring psychological diagnosis. The Med Psych unit is for voluntary adult patients and is staffed by board certified physicians, psychiatrists and specially trained nurse practitioners. Patients can receive a psychiatric consultation with psych med management as needed.
