We have an exciting locum tenens opportunity for a Board-Certified Pediatrician in the beautiful northern Michigan area, near Traverse City, MI. Position Overview:

• Role: Pediatrician – Locum Tenens


• Location: Near Traverse City, MI


• Start Date: November 1, 2024


• Duration: Ongoing


• Shift Type: 24-hour call shifts


• Weekend Requirements: Yes


• On-Call Requirements: Yes, including holiday coverage

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide newborn nursery call services, including rounding on newborns, particularly those readmitted for conditions like hyperbilirubinemia and failure to thrive.


• Average of 3-4 newborn patients per day with no inpatient pediatrics other than nursery care.


• Coverage for specific dates in December (5, 6, 11, 12, 23-30) and January (23-24).


• Nursery setup includes up to 3 transitional newborn beds in a Level I nursery and Level II labor/delivery unit.

Requirements:

• Board Certification in Pediatrics – Required


• Clean medical history – No malpractice or background issues, without exceptions


• NRP and PALS certification – Required


• Michigan medical license – Required at the time of submission


• Local candidates within driving distance – Strongly preferred


• MI Medicaid/CHAMPS enrollment – Required


• COVID vaccination – Required

Credentialing:

• Fast-track credentialing is available to meet the November start date.

Additional Details:

• EMR: Familiarity with EMR systems used in the region


• Deliveries: The facility handles around 350-400 deliveries annually
