Description Calling All Surgical NPs! Our group is looking for experienced Nurse Practitioners with extensive inpatient acute patient care experience in a surgical or similar setting to join their General Surgery team! The candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care to General Surgery patients working within the scope of the Certified Nurse Practitioner License and hospital privileges. Works under the Supervising physician or designated physicians, and the CNO. Responsibilities Provide direct clinical services for pre- or post- operative patients on the On-Call General Surgery Service, under the supervision of the On-Call Surgeon. Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Demonstrate efficient use of hospital resources to meet patient call goals. Explain necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, family members, staff, and healthcare learners Formulate and implement treatment and discharge plans for acute surgical management in collaboration with the designated supervising attending physician(s). Assess patients for change in status and institute appropriate interventions. Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patients. Licensure/Certifications Required: California license as Advanced Nurse Practitioner including certification in relevant nursing specialty; American Heart Association BLS.
