Description Position Summary: Anesthesia Associates of New London (“AANL”) is a private practice group that has an exclusive contract with Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. AANL is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to join the group and work in the Pain Management Clinic. This position involves being a team member of the Department of Anesthesia. The Physician Assistant is responsible for developing and providing general pain management care and will work in collaboration with the physicians, community resources and staff to develop and provide a well balanced program. This position is full time, 5 days per week with no call duty. Responsibilities: ? Assist with initial inpatient and outpatient evaluation and follow-up with pain clinic patients. ? Accountable for the supervision, planning and coordination of clinical activities related to pain management in the acute and chronic care setting. ? Provide collaboration within the health care team and demonstrate clinical expertise in acute and chronic pain management to ensure safe and effective care. ? Assist in educational programs to promote quality care in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of care within the framework of clinical guidelines. ? Maintain effective communication with patients, physicians, other professional staff, and healthcare partners. Experience and Skills: ? Excellent interpersonal, relationship and communication skills. ? Expert clinical judgment skills to function in an independent role. ? Ability to be self-directive and demonstrate initiative in addressing responsibilities of the position. ? Ability to utilize appropriate problem solving and conflict resolution skills. ? Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. ? ACLS/ CPR required. ? Licensure or the ability to be licensed in the state of Connecticut. ? Experience in a pain management setting is a plus, but will train as needed ? Managing intrathecal pump and spinal cord stimulators is a plus, but will train as needed AANL offers a generous compensation package including a competitive base salary complimented by a comprehensive benefits package.
