Position Summary
A member of Community HealthCare System’s (CHCS) Medical Staff that specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the respiratory system and provide comprehensive care for patients with lung-related conditions. This role involves both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, with an emphasis on high-quality clinical care, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
•  Provide consultation and referral services to CHCS’s Clinic providers for Pulmonology services of patients.
•  Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory and pulmonary disorders such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, and sleep-related breathing disorders
•  Perform and interpret diagnostic tests including pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, chest imaging, and sleep studies
•  Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient history, symptoms, and diagnostic findings
•  Manage acute and chronic respiratory conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings
•  Provide consultation services to other physicians and healthcare professionals
•  Serve as Medical Director for Pulmonology Services including Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Function Tests and Sleep Lab
•  Educate patients and families about disease management, prevention, and treatment options
•  Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
•  Maintain accurate and confidential medical records

Skills

Qualifications
•  Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
•  Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine
•  Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Educations (ACCME) in Pulmonology
•  Fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine
•  Board certification or board eligibility in Pulmonary Medicine (
•  Valid medical license to practice in the State of Kansas
•  Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
•  Commitment to compassionate and patient-centered care
•  Current DEA Registration


Notes

Preferred Skills
•  Experience with critical care management, including ventilator support
•  Proficiency with EMR systems
•  Ability to manage complex or multi-system conditions
