Family Medicine Physician Type: Permanent, Full time. We are seeking an experienced Family Medicine Physician to join a patient-centered, community-based healthcare organization committed to team-based care. This physician will work closely with clinical leadership in the development of standards, policies, and procedures for clinical practice; direction and coordination of diagnostic and treatment services; and implementation of applicable federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Render professional services within scope of training in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and current standards of medical practice
- Provide appropriate, continuous care and supervision to patients; direct and coordinate diagnostic and treatment services
- Stay current on medical alerts including CDC guidelines, infectious disease developments, and pharmaceutical updates and disseminate to medical staff as appropriate
- Complete all medical and required records in a timely manner per organizational policy
- Devote full-time efforts to clinical practice; outside speaking, writing, or lecturing permitted provided it does not adversely affect practice
- Provide clinical consultation to other providers; be available for questions related to diagnosis and treatment
- Participate in peer review processes for maintenance of clinical privileges
- Review test results and pertinent correspondence for patients of absent providers and implement appropriate care as needed
- Participate in call coverage on an equal and rotating basis with other practice physicians
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues; advocate for patients by explaining all procedures and treatments prior to execution
- Provide medical expertise in planning and establishing goals and policies to improve medical management
- Build and maintain effective relationships with referral sources and consultants; ensure appropriate follow-up on patient consults
- Attend relevant conferences and seminars for networking and continuing education
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve patient flow and the overall patient and family experience of care
- Foster positive working relationships across all departments including front and back office, mental health, pharmacy, and administration
- Provide care coordination through daily huddles as part of the PCMH model
- Identify at-risk patient populations and monitor panel-specific population health
- Empower patients through self-management education
- Attend monthly department meetings and complete all required annual trainings
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of medicine with completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program (required)
- Board certified in Family Medicine (required)
- Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington and in good standing with the medical board (required)
- Unrestricted DEA registration with prescriptive authority for controlled substances (required)
- Qualifies for insurability under FTCA or equivalent professional liability coverage (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical practice/patient care experience post-training (required)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to perform all physical demands of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
