Registered Nurse - PCU

What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU RN experience, with specific expertise in cardiac and medical stepdown care.
- Valid Ohio nursing license and current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Ability to successfully pass an EKG competency exam prior to onboarding.
- Proficiency in managing cardiac drips, insulin, vasopressors, chest tubes, central lines, drains, and wound care.
- Skilled in cardiac procedures like management of venous sheaths, TR Bands, temporary pacemakers, and device management.
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to handle diverse patient cases including respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, sepsis, post-surgical, and overdose cases.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred But Not Mandatory:
- LVAD certification (especially for 2W Cardiac Stepdown unit).
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
- Experience: At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical or acute care RN experience.
- Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; LVAD certification preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Must meet facility-specific onboarding and compliance standards, including passing the EKG exam.
- Must be separated from prior employment for at least one year if previously employed as a perm staff.
- Capable of working a flexible schedule that includes every other weekend, major holidays, and up to 7 days of requested time off; full-week requests exceeding 7 days will require contract extension.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Willingness to work in diverse units, with potential floating to other medical or surgical units as needed.
- Scrub color: Pewter; appropriate attire with proper badge display at all times.
