Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D) at Wellstar Augusta University Medical Center

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Agency RN to join the prestigious Wellstar Augusta University Medical Center’s Labor & Delivery team. Role Overview:

As an RN in L&D, you will be instrumental in delivering top-quality care to mothers and infants during one of the most critical times of their lives. This role requires precision, compassion, and robust clinical skills to ensure safety and comfort for patients. You’ll work night shifts, with a flexible schedule that includes weekends and major holidays, supporting the hospital’s mission of excellence in maternal health.


Required Skills:


  • Current Georgia RN license (Single State) or RN Compact Multi-State license

  • BLS or ARC-BLS certification (Willing to Obtain required if not already held)

  • Proven experience in direct patient care within a hospital setting

  • Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking)

  • Technology proficiency, including basic computer skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond calmly to emergencies

  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities

  • Effective time management and organizational skills



Nice to Have Skills:


  • Previous experience specifically in Labor & Delivery

  • Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred)

  • Knowledge of current obstetric practices and protocols



Preferred Education and Experience:


  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably in maternal-newborn care



Other Requirements:


  • Night shift availability from 7 PM to 7:30 AM

  • Flexibility to work varying days including weekends (minimum every other weekend) and holidays (at least 2 major, 2 minor per year)

  • Willingness to work on call as needed

  • Completion of a Wellstar cover sheet with each application

  • HIV to obtain necessary certifications if not currently held

  • Block scheduling is not available; RTO requests limited to 3 days

  • Certification and licensure reimbursements may be provided as applicable

  • Employment start date: March 30, 2026

  • Hourly pay rate: $46.90
