Description

Job Summary:

The Child First Supervisor is responsible for the management of all Child First program and clinical operations within Tennyson Center for Children. The supervisor engages in clinical reflective supervision with four Child First Clinical Teams (each team made up of a Family Support Partner and a Mental Health and Developmental Clinician) who are conducting Child First’s home-based therapeutic intervention. The Child First Supervisor also maintains a caseload of two Child First families. As an administrator, the Child First Supervisor works very closely with the Child First Colorado Program Director to ensure fidelity to the Child First model and optimal outcomes for families.

The Child First model is an evidence-based, two-generation intervention that works with vulnerable young children (prenatal through age 5 years) and their families, providing home-based services to decrease the incidence of serious mental health problems, developmental and learning disabilities, and abuse and neglect. Child First provides (1) a psychotherapeutic, dyadic intervention to strengthen the parent-child relationship (Child Parent Psychotherapy), and (2) care coordination to connect the family to needed services and supports. Child First has been recognized as an evidence-based home visiting model by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program and rated “Effective” by the National Registry for Effective Programs and Practice (NREPP) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA).
