We are actively recruiting a qualified Locum Physician specializing in Neurology to provide expert coverage in Petoskey, Michigan. In this vital position, you will deliver high-quality neurological services, including EEG interpretation, lumbar punctures, radiologic exam interpretation, and brain death examinations. You will play a crucial role in managing inpatient and outpatient cases, ensuring seamless care during scheduled shifts and after-hours call coverage, including weekends and holidays. This position presents a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to excellence in patient outcomes.


Required Skills:


  • Valid medical license in Michigan or the ability to obtain one

  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Neurology

  • Proven experience in inpatient and outpatient neurology care

  • Proficiency in EEG interpretation and performing lumbar punctures

  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a hospital setting



Nice to Have Skills:


  • Experience with Cerner EMR system

  • Prior experience in a locum tenens role

  • Familiarity with evoked potentials and brain death procedures

  • Additional certifications in advanced neurological procedures



Preferred Education and Experience:


  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of Neurology residency program

  • At least 2 years of clinical experience post-residency

  • Prior locum tenens experience is a plus



Other Requirements:


  • Willingness to work diverse shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Coverage of 6-8 patients per day, with on-site hospital presence required

  • Immunization records including Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu, COVID, TB, and Tdap

  • Competence in EMR documentation using Cerner

  • No travel or lodging arrangements through third-party agencies; all reimbursements adhere to company policy

  • Hourly pay rate: Competitive and commensurate with experience
