Description JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: General Surgery Physician Assistant • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Potsdam, NY • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call optional • Coverage Period: July 27, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 7a – 5p (Full-Time) • On-Call Shift Schedule: Weeknight and weekend call optional • Call Type: Beeper COVERAGE DATES • August 21 – August 28 (flexible schedule options) PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: 10–15 patients per provider • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included (Sat – Sun 8a – 12p) • Phone Consults: TBD • Case Mix: General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedic cases FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 109 beds • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Pyxis medication system • Specialty Backup Available: Surgical team, anesthesia • Support Staff Available: NP, LPN, OR staff PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: TBD • Credentialing Timeline: TBD COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Surgical first assist duties • Suturing and wound care • Hemostasis and intraoperative support • Patient positioning and surgical assistance JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active NY license required • Board: Certified Physician Assistant • DEA: Required • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS • Experience: Minimum 2 years recent experience required • Other Qualifications: Robotics experience preferred; Epic experience required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide surgical first assist support in the operating room • Assist with patient care including suction, drainage, and irrigation • Perform rounding, consults, and discharges • Manage surgical floor patients and documentation • Collaborate with surgical and care teams * Some information such as the email and phone number are hidden unless you are registered and logged-in
