Position Details:

• Role: Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist


• Location: Near Avondale, Colorado


• Shift: 24-hour on-call (7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Friday, every other week)


• Start Date: December 6, 2024, with ongoing bi-weekly shifts available through early April


• Required Procedures: General GI procedures, including ERCP


• Support Staff: Backup physician available for concurrent calls at nearby facilities

Key Requirements:

• Board Certification: Required in Gastroenterology or Board-Eligible with recent Internal Medicine certification


• Licensure: Active Colorado medical license and DEA registration required


• Experience: ERCP experience required, with a clean malpractice and background record preferred


• Availability: Must be available for the specified call dates through April

Scheduling and Coverage Dates:

• Weekly Call Schedule: Friday (7 a.m.) - Friday (7 a.m.) bi-weekly, starting December 6, 2024, with multiple coverage dates through April


• Future Coverage: Potential need for coverage beyond April, depending on facility requirements

Credentialing Information:

• Credentialing Timeframe: 30-60 days


• Additional Facilities: Credentialing at nearby locations may be required

Patient Load and Facility Information:

• Census: Average 15-25 patients per day with 5-8 daily procedures on inpatients; additional consults and transfers expected


• Anesthesia Support: Available, no conscious sedation needed


• Hospitalist Support: Available for patient admissions
