What You’ll Do:
- Deliver exceptional critical care to neuro patients in a fast-paced ICU environment.
- Use advanced skills including IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, and intracranial pressure monitoring to optimize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
- Monitor patient status constantly, ensuring safety and compliance with protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation utilizing Epic electronic health records.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience.
- Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, and intracranial pressure monitoring.
- Current BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA certifications only).
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and float within units of equal or lower acuity.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Experience with other critical care settings.
- Additional certifications such as CCRN or specialized neuro care training.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- At least 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience in a hospital setting.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work with a rotating shift schedule (day and night 3x12-hour shifts).
- Ability to work every other weekend and participate in on-call rotations.
- Valid nursing license, additional certifications, and adherence to hospital policies.
