Description
A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a new Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) for a promising opportunity at one of their inpatient child & adolescent mental health facilities in Queens.
Responsibilities:
The Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) will:
- Provide care to patients in a manner that considers safety, patients' rights, comfort, and the therapeutic environment
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and encouraging independent behavior when appropriate
- Assist patients during mealtimes, observes intake, and reports to a licensed nursing staff.
- Assist with admission, discharge, outside appointments, and transfer of patients
- Successfully complete all mandatory training within established timeframes
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 6+ months of relevant work experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- Experience providing 1:1 patient care
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with Child and Adolescent population
