Requirements: - Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice
- CPR/BLS certification required (ACLS preferred depending on facility)
- Experience in Behavioral Health, Detox, Psychiatric, or Substance Abuse settings preferred
- Strong assessment skills for withdrawal and mental health conditions
- Ability to manage high-acuity behavioral situations calmly and professionally
Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on detox and behavioral health patients
- Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms (alcohol, opioids, substances, etc.)
- Administer medications, including MAT and PRN medications as ordered
- Observe and respond to behavioral changes, mental health symptoms, and clinical deterioration
- Ensure patient safety, including suicide risk and elopement precautions when applicable
- Document clinical findings, interventions, and patient response accurately
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, counselors, and interdisciplinary treatment teams
- Support admission, intake screening, and discharge planning
- Provide patient education related to recovery, relapse prevention, and medication compliance
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
