What You’ll Do:


  • Effectively screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.

  • Develop individualized plans of care, utilizing evidence-based assessments and interventions.

  • Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.

  • Evaluate and document treatment effectiveness, making necessary modifications and referrals.

  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Communicate regularly with supervisors and healthcare team regarding patient progress and barriers.

  • Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain detailed, compliant documentation.

  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.

  • Support clinical supervision of CFYs or student Speech-Language Pathologists.

  • Ensure adherence to ASHA and State practice standards, ethics, and licensure requirements.



Required Skills:


  • Valid state license and ASHA certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

  • Proven experience in diagnosis and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.

  • Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and documentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.



Nice to Have Skills:


  • Experience working in long-term care or institutional settings.

  • Bilingual proficiency or additional language skills.

  • Knowledge of telehealth platforms and digital documentation systems.



Preferred Education and Experience:


  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in a clinical or long-term care environment preferred.

  • Licensure and certification active and in good standing.



Other Requirements:


  • Ability to obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) and supplies.

  • Willingness to support and supervise CFYs or student clinicians.

  • Committed to practicing ethically and professionally per ASHA and state guidelines.
