Seeking a Qualified and Experienced General Surgeon

Are you a dedicated and highly skilled General Surgeon passionate about providing comprehensive surgical care? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Montpelier, OH. This locum tenens opportunity offers 24-hour call coverage, starting as soon as possible (ASAP).

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-call general surgical coverage, responding to a variety of surgical emergencies and traumas.


• Perform a range of general surgical procedures on adult patients, including but not limited to appendectomies, hernia repairs, and wound care.


• Collaborate with emergency department staff, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.


• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the designated electronic medical record system.


• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in general surgery and participate in ongoing professional development activities.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Ohio (OH) medical license and a valid DEA registration are mandatory.


• Board certification in General Surgery is required.


• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.


• Minimum of two years of experience in a general surgery setting is preferred.


• Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in general surgery.


• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment.


• Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care.


• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment with on-call responsibilities.
