Description Job Description & Requirements Speech & Language Pathologist - Skilled - (SLP) StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $2159.00 - $2225.00 This 13-week Speech-Language Pathologist assignment is based in a skilled nursing facility in Louisville, Kentucky, a dynamic city known for its friendly neighborhoods, historic charm, and thriving arts and culinary scenes. Louisville offers easy access to parks, walking paths along the Ohio River, unique local restaurants, and year-round cultural events, making it an appealing home base during your contract. In this SNF role, you will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for adult and geriatric residents with communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. You will manage a caseload that includes both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care residents, with a focus on functional outcomes, safe swallowing, and maximizing independence. You will work 8-hour day shifts, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team that typically includes physical and occupational therapy, nursing, and case management. Your day may include completing evaluations, updating plans of care, participating in care conferences, providing individualized and group treatment sessions, and documenting services in the facility’s EMR system. This setting emphasizes quality, evidence-based practice and team communication, providing a supportive environment for SLPs who enjoy working with an older adult population and contributing to resident-centered care. The role offers a consistent daytime schedule and the opportunity to build strong clinical skills in post-acute and long-term care while enjoying all that Louisville has to offer during your off hours.
