Description JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Cardiothoracic Surgery • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Fort Myers, FL • Service Setting: Inpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: 07/08/2026 – 09/30/2026 • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:45a – 5:00p - 1 weekend per month • On-Call Shift Schedule: Weeknight and Weekend Call Coverage • Call Type: In-House/Beeper • Call Ratio: Shared Equitably Among Surgeon • Call Response Time: Immediate • Callback Rate: Emergent Cases Only PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery patients • Patient Volume/Census: TBD • Admissions: New consults included • Rounding: Daily inpatient rounding with APP support • Phone Consults: As Needed • Case Mix: Cardiac and Thoracic surgical cases, pre-operative and post-operative management FACILITY INFORMATION • APP Support: Surgical PA and CTS APP coverage • CVICU APP coverage available on most nights • APPs create consult and progress notes; surgeon reviews and co-signs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, lodging, and malpractice covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Cardiac Surgery • Thoracic Surgery • Open Thoracic Procedures • VATS Procedures • Robotic Thoracic Procedures • ECMO • Impella • TEVAR JOB REQUIREMENTS • Active Florida Medical License required • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred • Must indicate cardiac and thoracic surgery experience • Must specify Open, VATS, and/or Robotic thoracic capabilities • Must specify ECMO, Impella, and TEVAR experience • Provider must be able to supply 50 cardiac cases and 50 thoracic cases DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform inpatient cardiothoracic surgical procedures • Manage pre-operative and post-operative patients • Round daily with APP support • Evaluate and manage new inpatient consults • Provide weeknight and weekend call coverage • Respond to emergent surgical cases • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and CVICU staff • Maintain accurate documentation * Some information such as the email and phone number are hidden unless you are registered and logged-in
