Description

We are seeking a Locum Tenens Interventional Cardiologist (MD/DO) to provide hospital-based, inpatient-only coverage in Carmichael, CA (no clinic). This is a weekend call coverage need to support ongoing staffing/backfill efforts. Credentialing is estimated at ~90 days, and the initial duration of need is ~1 year.

Skills

Requirements:
• MD/DO from an accredited program.
• Board Certification: BC in Interventional Cardiology (required).
• Active California medical license (required).

Job Responsibilities:
• Provide interventional cardiology call coverage for assigned weekends.
• Evaluate and manage acute inpatient cardiology and emergent consults.
• Perform indicated interventional cardiology procedures per hospital standards and privileges.
• Coordinate care with ED, ICU, hospitalists, anesthesia, cath lab, and nursing teams.
• Document care in the EMR (Cerner) in a timely and compliant manner.
• Communicate clearly with staff and leadership regarding patient status, procedures, and follow-up needs.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, clinical protocols, and on-call response expectations.
