A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Hospitalist for ongoing inpatient laborist coverage. This role involves 24-hour in-house call responsibilities, management of labor and delivery patients, OB Emergency Department coverage, and support for urgent gynecologic cases.

Compensation:

Orientation - $130/hr
Hourly - $265/hr
Holiday - $400/hr

Position Details
Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospitalist
Practice Setting: Inpatient Hospital
Assignment Length: Approximately 6 months
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Schedule: 24-hour in-house call shifts
Shift Hours: 7:30 AM – 7:30 AM
Coverage Need: 6–8 call shifts per month
Immediate July availability highly desired
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide Labor & Delivery coverage
Manage OB Emergency Department patients
Perform vaginal deliveries
Perform and assist with Cesarean sections
Monitor patients receiving Pitocin or other labor augmentation medications
Manage obstetrical emergencies
Provide consultation and management for urgent OB/GYN cases
Assist with urgent gynecologic surgical cases that arise during call coverage
Patient Population
Primarily low-risk obstetrical patients
Underserved community population
Approximately 60–70 deliveries per month
Cesarean section rate approximately 25–30%
Practice Environment
Level III NICU available
Strong collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Neonatology, and tertiary referral specialists
OB Hospitalists are required to remain onsite for the entire call shift
Dedicated anesthesia coverage available 24/7
Ultrasound support available
EMR
Cerner
Preferred Qualifications
Recent Laborist/Hospitalist experience
Current labor and delivery practice experience
Bilingual skills strongly preferred
Local California candidates preferred
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency
Active California medical license
DEA certification
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Clean malpractice history
Credentialing
Expedited hospital privileges may be available while additional credentialing is completed
Travel
