Description Adelphi is seeking an Autonomous Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide examinations and preventive health services at a correctional facility in Virginia. The ideal candidate will be required to assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement care plans, and maintain medical records. Job Quick Facts: • Ref#: BD-353-85 • Profession: Nurse Practitioner • Location: Waverly and Haynesville, Virginia • Service Setting: Correctional Facility • Job Type: Contract • Coverage Type: Clinical • Start Date: ASAP • Shift schedule: Mon-Fri, 5x8-hour shifts or 4x10-hour shifts Requirements: • Active Virginia license • NC License • DEA certification • BLS/ACLS certification Responsibilities: • Works independently with minimal supervision to perform physical examinations and preventive health measures. • Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility. • Order and perform diagnostic procedures. • Prescribe controlled substances and devices in accordance with current regulations. • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. • Provides education to patient, healthcare, and correctional staff. • Additional duties as assigned by facility.
