What You’ll Do
- Provide patient care in a PCU/stepdown setting with appropriate monitoring and interventions
- Manage patients with cardiac stepdown needs and medical stepdown overflow conditions
- Deliver care for patients post-procedures/surgery and with complex monitoring, including frequent reassessment
- Perform/assist with critical support tasks such as titrating ordered therapies (per facility protocols)
- Coordinate care using the facility’s EMR system and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with the unit care team, including nursing support staff and available clinicians
- Support safe transitions across units as assigned during orientation/after placement (when applicable)
What You Need
Required
- 2 years PCU RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Ability to complete required compliance testing: PASS an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
- RN licensure (active/maintained)
Preferred
- LVAD certification (preferred for 2 West only)
Traveler note (if applicable):
- First-time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff (acute care) RN experience.
- If previously a perm staff traveler assignment exists, travelers must be separated by 1 year.
About the Assignment
This PCU role supports a stepdown environment with cardiac stepdown and medical stepdown patient populations. You’ll be oriented with hospital onboarding followed by unit training, and you’ll work a structured weekend rotation as scheduled.
