Pathologists Assistant Laboratory (ASCP-PA) – Winston-Salem, NC

Hourly Pay Rate: $84.60/hr | 1 Opening

What You’ll Do

  • Perform gross examinations and dissection of large/complex surgical pathology specimens

  • Handle small biopsy gross examination and dissection

  • Prepare tissues for histological processing, including specimen fixation as needed

  • Support specimen receipt and labeling, including accurate specimen handling

  • Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic evaluation

  • Participate in tumor triage workflows based on clinical/patient information

  • Perform adult and fetal autopsies as required by assignment

  • Obtain and/or review relevant patient clinical information (e.g., scans/x-rays/lab results) to support workup



What You Need

Required


  • ASCP – PA

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience

  • Traveler experience required

  • Experience in hospital clinical laboratory workflow and surgical pathology gross handling

  • Ability to perform gross examination/dissection and support tissue preparation/histological processing



Preferred


  • Specimen accessioning experience

  • Ability to cut and stain frozen sections

  • Experience with postmortem examinations

  • Experience with removal of brain and spinal cord

  • Gross/microscopic photography

  • Master’s degree (preferred)



About the Assignment

This assignment is in a pathology-focused laboratory environment within a leading facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. You’ll work day shifts with a Monday–Friday schedule and complete hospital orientation in the first week (including required class availability each day during orientation).
