What You’ll Do
- Follow the supervising physical therapist’s direction by performing delegated physical therapy procedures and related tasks.
- Use manual techniques, available equipment, and/or modalities to support interventions in the patient’s plan of care.
- Help ensure patient safety and comfort by using clinical problem-solving during treatment.
- Modify treatment based on patient progress and keep the PT informed of changes in status and overall progress.
- Assist facility staff as needed to maintain a clean, organized, and effective rehabilitation environment.
- Document patient progress according to approved medical and facility documentation procedures.
- Provide individualized patient and caregiver education to support desired outcomes and goals.
- Adhere to the APTA Code of Ethics and maintain competency through ongoing learning and education opportunities.
What You Need
Required
- Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) licensure (state-specific requirements apply)
- Ability to practice within the PTA Practice Act scope
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Outpatient physical therapy experience (not required but beneficial)
