What You’ll Do
- Provide patient care on Oncology Medical-Surgical units in a corrections environment
- Float to various units as needed, including Oncology PCU and MS units
- Ensure staff and patient safety within a secure correctional setting
- Document patient care using EPIC and medication systems like Pyxis
- Support patients with oncology diagnoses, including treatments and history
- Manage complex medical needs such as IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, respiratory support, and more
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, respiratory, and social services
- Adapt to shift requirements, including weekend assignments and rotating schedules
What You Need
- Valid Ohio RN license
- BLS certification (required)
- Oncology experience preferred but not essential
- EPIC charting experience required
- Strong knowledge of telemetry, IV therapy, medication management, and respiratory support
- Ability to work in a secure, correctional healthcare environment
- Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends as necessary
About the Assignment
This role is based in a secure corrections hospital serving Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections inmates. The unit supports patients with active oncology treatments, complex medical conditions, and general medical-surgical needs — all within a controlled and safety-focused environment. You’ll be an essential part of a dedicated team providing high-quality care with a focus on safety and patient comfort.
