"Gastroenterology Locum Opportunity – Colorado Position OverviewSeeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for inpatient GI coverage and call support at a Level III Trauma Center. Candidates must be proficient in ERCP and comfortable managing acute inpatient and emergency GI cases. Compensation: Orientation – $240 per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours Hourly – $490/hr Holiday – $730 per holiday hour, no OT Nightly Call – $545 per night call to hold the pager, to include 2.5 hours gratis Holiday Nightly Call - $820 per night call to hold the pager, to include 2.5 hours gratis On Call (Daily) – $3895 per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis 24 Hour Holiday Call Rate - $5840 per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis Call Back – $490 per hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms. Holiday Call Back – $730 per holiday hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms Coverage Dates
Coverage blocks available: October 19–25 October 25 – November 1 November 9–15 November 16–22 November 30 – December 6 December 14–20 Additional ongoing opportunities beginning January 2027. Schedule Weekdays Inpatient Coverage: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Night Call: 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM Weekends 24-Hour Call Coverage Saturday/Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM Coverage Expectations 3–4 weeks of locum coverage needed per month No outpatient responsibilities Practice Setting Inpatient Gastroenterology Emergency Department Consults Trauma Center Coverage Call Coverage Patient Population Adults and Geriatrics Facility Information 185-bed hospital Level III Trauma Center Volume Approximately 2–3 patients per day requiring procedures Approximately 2–3 ICU GI bleed cases per week Responsibilities Inpatient GI consultations Emergency Department consultations Management of hospitalized GI patients Endoscopic procedures Call coverage for urgent and emergent GI needs Required Procedures EGD Colonoscopy ERCP Inpatient GI Consultations Support Staff GI Nursing Team Anesthesia Support Radiology/X-Ray Support EMR Epic Requirements Required Board Certified in Gastroenterology Active Colorado License or Active IMLC Letter of Qualification at submission Ability to perform ERCP Clean Malpractice and Background History Current NPDB Self-Query Report dated within 30 days of presentation Highly Preferred Active DEA Credentialing & Training Credentialing timeframe approximately 60–90 days Required Epic training and onboarding must be completed before start date Candidates must be willing to complete all EMR modules, virtual training, and onboarding requirements in the required sequence Submission Requirements Candidates must provide: Coverage dates they can work between October–December 2026 Ongoing monthly availability beginning January 2027 Confirmation of ERCP competency Acknowledgement of EMR training requirements Current NPDB Self-Query Report Active Colorado License or Active IMLC LOQ Travel Travel assistance available according to facility guidelines. Candidates should be willing to utilize designated lodging arrangements when available."
