Registered Nurse - PCU - Shreveport, LA (12H Days)

What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Manage patients with conditions such as CVA/TIA, spinal surgeries (ACDF, laminectomy), AFIB/RVR, DKA, COPD, and ARF
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, administer titratable meds (e.g., Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Levophed) with manager approval
- Support patient assessments, documentation, and care planning using EMR system (Meditech Expanse)
- Collaborate with team members including charge nurses and support staff
- Maintain compliance with unit protocols, including EKG competency exam
- Assist with procedures such as chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and more (preferred but not mandatory)
- Cover unit staffing in stepdown and medical-surgical overflow units with a patient ratio of approximately 1:3 on the PCU
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain one
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIH
- Key skills: telemetry monitoring, medication administration, patient assessment
- Experience in cardiac, neuro, or stepdown units preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
