Medix has partnered with a specialized healthcare facility in Lincoln, IL to recruit a temporary Respiratory Therapist for a rewarding travel contract. This clinician will work with a high-acuity adult population, managing ventilators and trachs within a supportive team setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide respiratory care to an adult population (ages 18+), predominantly managing a high volume of ventilator-dependent (approx. 15) and airway patients.
* Perform standard ventilator checks, frequent suctioning, and comprehensive maintenance of trach patients.
* Operate Voxin ventilators capable of multi-function delivery (ventilation, oxygen, cough assist, suctioning, and nebulization on a single unit) to facilitate safe patient transport.
* Utilize stand-alone nebulizers, e-cylinder tanks, oxygen regulators, and trach aerosol generators (compressor-based flow) effectively in a facility without piped-in oxygen or high-flow setups.
* Administer chest vest therapy and acapella treatments as prescribed.
* Function independently when required, while collaborating closely with the broader clinical team.
* Complete accurate and timely electronic charting using the Matrix EMR system.

Skills

REQUIREMENTS
* Valid Illinois State Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
* Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
* Current BLS certification.
* Solid working knowledge of tracheostomy care and mechanical ventilation.

PREFERRED SKILLS
* Current ACLS certification.
* Previous experience with in-line Passy Muir Valves (PMV) is a major plus.
