Description JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Gastroenterology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Topeka, KS • Service Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: 11/01/2026 – 01/31/2027 • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM • On-Call Shift Schedule: Weekday and Weekend Call - Shared Call • Call Type: Inpatient Call • Call Ratio: Shared (26 Weeks Preferred) • Call Response Time: By Facility Need PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adult Gastroenterology Patients • Patient Volume/Census: Average 8 Procedures - 7 Consultations Daily • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: Yes • Case Mix: Inpatient and Outpatient Gastroenterology (Advanced GI Preferred) FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Endoscopy Suite • Specialty Backup Available: Hospital-Based Specialists • Support Staff Available: 2 GI APRNs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Diagnostic Endoscopy • Therapeutic Endoscopy • Inpatient Gastroenterology Consults JOB REQUIREMENTS • Active Kansas Medical License • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Gastroenterology • Active DEA Required • ACLS, BLS, PALS, ATLS • Experience: Advanced GI Experience Preferred • Other Qualifications: Case Logs, CME Certificates, References, Driver's License, Photo, Physical Required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology coverage • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures • Manage inpatient consultations and follow-up care • Participate in shared weekday and weekend call • Document patient care in Epic * Some information such as the email and phone number are hidden unless you are registered and logged-in
