A healthcare organization in East Texas is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling in a freestanding emergency department with a minimum commitment of five shifts per month.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Freestanding Emergency Department


• Start Date: October 1, 2026


• Contract: Ongoing


• Schedule: 12-hour day and night shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)


• Minimum Commitment: 5 shifts per month


• Call: None


• Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days


• EMR: EPIC

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients of all ages with emergent medical conditions


• Provide independent emergency department coverage


• Perform emergency procedures as clinically indicated


• Document patient care using EPIC

Requirements

• Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine residency training


• Active Texas medical license


• ATLS and ACLS certifications as applicable to board certification pathway


• Emergency Medicine board certification or Family Medicine board certification accepted


• Family Medicine physicians should have prior emergency department experience


• Completion of required onboarding and orientation activities
