A healthcare organization in Northwestern Arizona is seeking a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This opportunity combines outpatient clinic responsibilities with inpatient call coverage, caring for adult orthopedic patients in a collaborative practice.

• Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient


• Start Date: ASAP


• Contract: Ongoing


• Credentialing: Estimated 5–7 days


• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours plus Call


• Call Type: Beeper call


• Call Response Time: Within 15 minutes


• EMR: Athena and Medhost

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat adult orthopedic patients in both clinic and hospital settings


• Provide orthopedic call coverage


• Perform surgical procedures within the scope of orthopedic surgery, including:
  
  
  
  • Arthroscopy
  
  
  • Total hip and knee replacement
  
  
  • Joint revision surgery
  
  
  • Shoulder procedures
  
  
  • Hand surgery
  
  
  • Tendon repair
  
  
  • Peripheral nerve procedures
  
  
  • Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine procedures
  
  
  
  


• Evaluate emergency department consults and inpatient orthopedic cases


• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams


• Document patient care using Athena and Medhost

Requirements

• MD or DO


• Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery


• Active Arizona medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility


• Active DEA registration


• NPDB Self-Query required


• Two years of case logs required for credentialing


• Professional references required


• Ability to respond within 15 minutes while on call


• Eligible for hospital credentialing
