Overview

A healthcare system in Maryland is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB Hospitalist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity. This solo, onsite position provides 24-hour in-house coverage in a labor and delivery setting and is ideal for physicians who are comfortable practicing independently while managing a full scope of obstetric care.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Labor & Delivery


• Start Date: October 8, 2026


• Assignment Length: Ongoing


• Schedule: Approximately 3 shifts per month


• Shift: 24-hour shifts (8:00 AM–8:00 AM)


• Call: 24-hour onsite/in-house call


• EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide solo OB hospitalist coverage for labor and delivery


• Manage laboring patients and perform vaginal deliveries


• Perform cesarean deliveries and bread-and-butter gynecologic procedures


• Perform gynecologic surgeries as clinically indicated


• Round on obstetric patients


• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care


• Document patient encounters in Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABOG)


• Active Maryland medical license or IMLC eligibility


• Active DEA and CSR


• BLS certification


• Minimum of one year of OB Hospitalist experience


• Epic experience required and must be included in the presentation


• Comfortable practicing independently in a solo coverage model
