Locum Tenens Opportunity – Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology in Pennsylvania

A healthcare facility near Twin Rocks, PA is seeking a Gastroenterologist with expertise in Internal Medicine for a locum tenens position. The coverage is needed from October 28, 2024, to November 4, 2024.

Job Highlights:

• Location: Near Twin Rocks, Pennsylvania


• Duration: October 28 - November 4, 2024


• Work Setting: Combination of inpatient and outpatient care


• Call Schedule: 5 PM – 5 PM during the assignment period


• Clinic Hours: 8 AM – 4 PM with call coverage outside these hours


• Patient Load: 5-10 inpatient consults per day while on-call

Required Qualifications:

• License: Active Pennsylvania medical license


• Certification: Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology within 5 years of completing residency


• Fellowship: Fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology


• Experience: Comfortable performing standard Gastroenterology procedures, including upper and lower GI endoscopies

Key Procedures and Skills:

• Upper GI Endoscopy: Biopsy, foreign body removal, and treatment of varices


• Colonoscopy: Biopsy and polyp excision


• ERCP: Diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities


• Esophageal Dilatation & Manometry: Diagnostic and therapeutic


• Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS): Diagnostic and therapeutic uses


• Liver Biopsy and Small Bowel Biopsy

• EMR System: Epic


• Privileges: Temporary privileges are available


• Travel & Lodging: Provided by the hospital, with nearest airports in Pittsburgh or Latrobe


• Support: No supervision of advanced practice providers or residents is required
