Endocrinology Physician – Mount Vernon, IL

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (last patient at 4:15 p.m.)

  • Shift: 8 hours/day, 2 weeks per month (flexible schedule)

  • Hours/Week: Approximately 80 hours/month

  • Employment Type: Locum/Temporary

  • License/Certs: Active licensure in Illinois required; BLS certification; DEA license

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred in Endocrinology; Board certified MD/DO in Internal Medicine with Endocrinology fellowship




Pay & Benefits


  • Hourly Rate: $253.50/hour

What You’ll Do


  • Provide outpatient Endocrinology consultations for adult and geriatric patients

  • Manage conditions such as hyper/hypothyroidism, Graves’ disease, thyroid nodules, pituitary issues, and diabetes

  • Perform fine-needle aspiration (FNA) procedures when indicated

  • Collaborate with support staff including RN, diabetes educator, dietitian, and APP

  • Document patient encounters accurately in EPIC EMR

  • Support ongoing patient care and follow-up visits within your schedule

  • Maintain licensure and stay compliant with credentialing requirements




What You Need


  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine

  • Active Illinois medical license (or willing to obtain quickly)

  • BLS certification

  • Minimum 1 year endocrinology experience preferred

  • Ability to start within a short timeframe; credentialing process approximately 60 days (temps may be granted sooner with clean background)

  • Key skills include managing common endocrine disorders, performing FNAs, and working independently with an APP
