What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and dispense medications following physician orders and hospital protocols
- Interpret verbal and written drug orders accurately and maintain precise patient records
- Compound and dispense sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition
- Issue controlled substances responsibly, maintaining legal and institutional records
- Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify technician activities
- Provide pharmaceutical care, including medication reconciliation, anticoagulation management, and patient education
- Ensure drug therapies are safe, effective, and cost-efficient
- Monitor for adverse drug reactions and interpret clinical data
- Participate in quality improvement activities, medication use reviews, and stewardship programs
- Attend staff meetings and ensure licensure and certifications are up to date
What You Need:
- Valid pharmacy license in Louisiana
- BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS preferred if pediatric practice involved
- Degree: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy
- Prior hospital experience is preferred
- Strong attention to detail, clinical judgment, and regulatory compliance skills
