What You’ll Do
- Provide emergency care to patients of all ages in a busy ED with 85-95 visits per day
- Perform IV starts, continuous patient monitoring, and respond to patient needs promptly
- Assess patient severity, anticipate care requirements, and prioritize interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including charge nurses, RTs, hospitalists, and support staff
- Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR
- Support trauma, cardiac, stroke, psychiatric, and general medical patients
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, pass EKG competency exams, and uphold patient care best practices
What You Need
- Valid Louisiana RN license and current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, CPI or MOAB
- Minimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experience
- Proficiency in IV placement, patient monitoring, and urgent care assessment
- Ability to pass required competency assessments
- Strong multitasking skills and capacity to handle high-volume patient flow
About the Assignment
Join a high-volume ED that cares for a diverse patient population, from newborns to geriatrics. The unit is team-oriented, traveler-friendly, and commits to providing excellent patient outcomes. Orientation includes two days of hospital training followed by two days of unit-specific onboarding. The schedule follows a 5/2 rotation with on-call-free shifts, and the facility offers free parking, flexible time-off requests (up to 7 days), and work during 2/3 holidays.
