What You’ll Do
- Provide specialized care to high-acuity ICU patients, including post-operative management for CABG, valve replacements, and other cardiac surgeries
- Manage complex patient needs such as PA catheters, balloon pumps, and IABP
- Support transplant recovery patients for liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas transplants
- Monitor and administer treatments like Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
- Adhere to hospital protocols and emergency procedures, including potential emergency team assignments
What You Need
- Valid Louisiana RN license or appropriate state licensure
- Minimum of 1-2 years ICU experience, preferably in SICU or CVICU settings
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and adaptability skills
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems preferred
About the Assignment
Join a team supporting a high-acuity ICU unit with a patient ratio of 1:2. You may be assigned to float to other ICUs and SDUs as needed, supporting a wide range of surgical recovery and transplant patients. This role requires flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to patient care excellence. You will report directly to your unit manager and may be asked to stay on-site during emergency events.
