What You’ll Do
- Provide post-operative care for cardiothoracic and vascular patients
- Assist with emergency surgeries on cardiothoracic and vascular patients
- Take consults/referrals from ED, Cath Lab, and hospital providers
- Participate in vein harvesting during surgeries
- Assist in surgical procedures, including writing prescriptions and ordering tests
- Coordinate patient care and perform rounding
- Interpret diagnostic tests and manage emergent patient needs
What You Need
Required:
- State license as a Physician Assistant (PA)
- Experience in inpatient/hospital settings, preferably cardiothoracic or vascular surgery
- Ability to handle emergency surgical procedures
- Proficiency in EMR documentation (Epic preferred)
Preferred:
- Previous experience with vascular tissue retrieval or vein harvesting
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment
About the Assignment
This temporary assignment is located at Springfield Regional Medical Center, a busy hospital designated as Level 2 Trauma. The role involves ensuring optimal post-operative and emergency care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing complex cardiothoracic and vascular procedures.
